I feel like I can't breathe and I just want it stop but I just can't let it go.
Day 06 - What does “home” mean to you?
A place in which I find most comfortable.
There are many factors contributing to this. Something I've really begun to realise is how the people in your home affect your comfortableness. So generally I like staying at home but recently my grandma came back from her holiday and has started to live with us again. I am not very close to my grandmother at all and even when I'm just at home with her, I always feel slightly uncomfortable. I'm in my pajamas, I have music blasting but I just can't feel at ease. This is a completely different story when I'm hanging out at home with my parents and sister.
I find time is a fickle thing but, in the context of home and levels of relaxed-ness, it helps if I have known someone or something for a long time. I think that also so gives a home-like feel. Not always the case but it helps. Generally places I have known for a long time and know well feel most like home for me. My grandpa's house is one of those places.
As cliche as this sounds, when I'm surrounded by people I love, that puts me at ease. I think that also applies to objects I love too! So libraries, book stores, stationery stores (I love Officeworks AHAH) and stuff like that
Day 04 - A picture of you in another country
This is from my trip to America when I was 3 years old. In this photo I am at Disneyland, which was pretty much a dream come true for me at the time because I loved Pooh Bear as a kid. Even now I feel like there is something about Pooh Bear that I connect with AHAH
Although I could never under why it was called Winnie the Pooh. What is a Pooh??? The real questions LOL
Day 05 - What do you bring with you when you travel?
These are couple of my essentials when travelling.
Sunglasses-Most of the time when i travel I don't put much effort in the way I look just because I am more relaxed (AKA lazy) so sunglasses are my way of making up for that AHAH
Pictured: Le Specs Hatter Sunglasses - Blue Cheetah Grad
Lip Balm-This is an essential regardless of where I go to be honest AHAH I drink little water and it's even worse when I travel so lip balm is a must!!
Pictured: EOS Honeysuckle Honeydew (smells very tasty)
Bobby pins-Along with bobby pins are hair ties but I didn't know how to fix it into the picture so yeah. Again I get very lazy with my hair and sometimes washing it can be a hassle especially with those tiny bottles of shampoo from the hotel so I pretty much always have my hair up.
iPod-I hold my iPod very dear to my heart. I recently also got an iPod nano which is very practical for travelling as it is very small. I put my ipod classic in this photo only because it was in reach and because it's more aesthetically pleasing AHAH Music is a must for when I travel. It helps a lot when I'm jet lagged or just home sick. The reason why I don't hold music in my phone is because I like to use my phone to take pictures or play games and that typically drains the battery, so at least if my phone is gone I have another device to listen to music with. As well as that, my iPhone 6 doesn't have that much space, so I tend to keep my photo just for pictures.
Pictured: iPod Classic 160gb (this iPod is discontinued)
I recommend getting the 7th generation iPod Nano. They're really small and convenient and just cute. They only come in 16gb but because it is specially for music 16gb is pretty much enough. I mean I have like 2700 songs on my iPod Nano atm and I still have about 4gb left. Apple also released new colours for the iPod and they're really nice o(^▽^)o
Journal-I generally keep a journal with me to jot down cool things I've seen or things that stand out to me. I like writing so travel journal-ling is really fun for me. It's also really nice to look back on.
Pictured: "I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list" travel journal-Kikki.K
I only got it this year but I am planning to use it for Post HSC trips!!
Book-For those who don't know, which would be a surprise because I make it very obvious, I'm a huge book worm. I find whilst travelling I get a lot reading done. Whether it be on a plane ride or when I'm up at peculiar times of the day due to jet lag I find myself reading a lot. One of my favourite things to do at the airport is to go to the newsagent to choose a book to read AHAH
(So geeky but I can't help it)

I just purchased this book recently and haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I have seen many positive reviews for the book so I'm pretty excited to start reading it.

Day 03 - An adventure/challenge you had while traveling or living abroad
I think generally when travelling, the most challenging part is finding comfort in somewhere unfamiliar. There is nothing nicer than being amazed over seeing something for the very first time but I think to truly enjoy a place you need to feel comfortable. I don't know if this is applicable for many people but for the most part, I'm a homebody. I enjoy the ease of my own personal space. When it comes to travelling, sure there is that initial amazement, but once that wears off I find myself really uncomfortable. I also have a huge fear of getting lost and the anxiety I feel when I don't know where I am going hits me hard every. single. time. The thing that helps the most is to find things that remind me of home. My last overseas holiday was to the States and the thing I felt most comforting was hearing an Australian accent. There is something so reassuring about hearing a familiar sound. Whilst I was in Hawaii, I had a tour guide from New Zealand and even that made me happy. So that's my challenge. Finding the familiar in unfamiliar places.
Not caring isn't resenting everything around you, not caring is forgetting all the things that are not beneficial for yourself and your own personal growth. I just wish I knew that a long time ago.
My high school experience is coming to an end and I've been really thinking about my friendships throughout high school. It's made me realise how much I love and adore my friends at the moment. They are people I am extremely proud to call my friends and it's strange to think that I won't be seeing them on a daily basis anymore.
With the good comes the bad and many of my close friendships haven't lasted. I'm not particularly bitter (lulz) but I can't help wonder what really happened. You come to realise that as much as you try, it's hard to rekindle a friendship when personalities that don't match. It's taken a lot out of me to refrain from being bitter but now that it's coming to the end, I just feel really sad about it. Should I have tried harder? Probably. But it's come to a point where I have built a small group of tight nit friendships that I can trust and I know will stay loyal. Why worry myself about what was or what could've been?
I'm feeling very nostalgic right now and kinda sad actually.
I guess I should end this here.
